I’m Leanna Garcia, a dedicated athlete on a mission to make sports history.
I have the honor of representing Team Spain as the country’s first female monobob athlete. After years of competing for Team Canada as a brakewoman and earning podium finishes in multiple North American Cup races, I’m now stepping into the pilot’s seat—embracing the challenge of this thrilling one-woman race to Olympic glory.

Born and raised in Canada, I grew up with strong ties to my Spanish heritage. I spent summers in Spain as a child before my dedication to sport took over my life. My passion for athletics started in track and field, eventually leading me to bobsleigh—a sport that demands speed, strength, and precision.
After three years pushing for Team Canada, I seized the opportunity to make history for Spain. Becoming a top-level bobsleigh pilot takes years of experience, and I’ve already begun mastering the world’s most challenging tracks by self-funding travel, training, and competition expenses. Now, my eyes are set on the 2026 Winter Olympics, where I will proudly represent Spain on the world stage.
MY OLYMPIC JOURNEY
Bobsleigh is a demanding sport, both physically and financially.
Training involves up to four hours a day in the off-season, while the competitive season requires months of global travel. To fully dedicate myself, I made the difficult decision to leave my full-time career behind.
This season, I am competing alone in the monobob event to earn Spain a spot at the Olympics and secure funding for a future women’s bobsleigh team. Without financial support, my journey—and the dream of growing the sport in Spain—would not be possible.
